A simple phone call and a pledge will help deliver Christmas for hundreds of families in the Shenandoah Valley.
For 43 years, Staunton radio station WTON has hosted the Children's Christmas Party radiothon.
This year's goal is to raise $22,000 by Wednesday. That would be enough to host a holiday bash for 275 kids and their families. They'll all go home with boxed lunches and the kind of gifts they really need.
"We spend $80 on each child, and this is not a toy drive. This is mostly the bare necessities like a coat, shoes, clothing," said WTON owner Gary Ratcliff.
The radiothon continues Tuesday and Wednesday mornings on ESPN at 1240 AM and STAR 94 FM.
