An annual holiday tradition in Waynesboro is back on track. The Augusta County Railroad Museum is open for extended weekend hours through New Year's.
The model trains range in size from the large O scale down to N scale that fits in the palm of your hand. Augusta County Model Train Club members build layouts in separate modules, and then combine them to create miniature worlds.
The museum is open year-round, but gets its biggest crowds during the holidays.
Jim Stogdale with Augusta County Model Train Club said, "They must enjoy it because we've got some people that it seems like every year, no matter where we've been located... they always seem to find where we are, what changes we've made, what's different this year."
The model train museum is in the Gateway Park Shopping Center on Broad Street in Waynesboro. Click here for hours and other details.
