Hunters for the Hungry Says Donations are Down

A program that delivers venison to the needy in Virginia says donations are lagging. The people who operate Hunters for the Hungry say donations are down by 80,000 pounds this season.

They say a few factors could be at play. Warmer weather, for instance, may have kept hunters busy doing other things and affected the behavior of deer. The down economy also could be a reason for the slower pace of contributions.
