As you get into the Thanksgiving spirit, be careful not to get into any trouble with your pet.
Veterinarians say that if you plan on leaving leftovers for your furry friend, you should make sure to keep food plain and portions small. Even if you think you're just spoiling them, feeding pets the wrong things could spoil your holiday.
"That can trigger things sometimes as bad as pancreatitis, and sometimes just diarrhea, which isn't really a big deal until you come home and you're cleaning that up," said Dr. John Andersen of Monticello Animal Hospital.
Don't feed your pet anything with bones in it, and avoid sharing fatty foods like ham and gravy with your pet.
