The UVa football team will play its final game of the season Saturday at Virginia Tech. The Hokies have a record of 5-6 and must win to become bowl eligible.
The Cavaliers have lost eight straight games to the Hokies. Tech won 38-nothing last year in Charlottesville. The Hokies beat UVa 37-7 two years ago in Blacksburg.
UVa quarterback Phillip Sims says, "It would be big-time for us, to be the team that put an end to the streak, but I think more than just a streak that we are getting ready for this week. We know that we are capable of winning this football game, we know we have to do the things we're capable of doing."
UVa quarterback Michael Rocco says, "The stakes are just as high for us, this is basically our bowl game, so to go out on a winning note for our seniors, to win our last game is a big deal for us."
The UVA-Virginia Tech game is a noon kickoff, televised by ESPNU.
