If you've been to the new Shops at Stonefield in Albemarle County, you might have run into some parking problems.
A number of viewers are frustrated by slow moving traffic and a lack of parking. County planners require new parking lots to be hidden from view on the Route 29 entrance corridor, which is part of the reason for the Shops at Stonefield's design.
But as excitement subsides, Albemarle County Architectural Review Board member Fred Missel says things should fall into place. "I think as things settle down, the benefit of shared parking, we'll see the benefits of that moving forward," he said.
There are only three merchants open right now, with more slated to open during the next several months. The Shops at Stonefield developer, EDENS, could not be reached for comment.
