University of Virginia students hit the runway Saturday night to help Charlottesville and Albemarle County high school students go to college.
The "Fashion for a Cause" show featured designers from Washington D.C. to California. Proceeds from the Cirque du Soleil-themed fashion show will support scholarships for high school students in the city and county.
Lauren Williams with Fashion for a Cause said, "The arts as a whole - everything about it - is amazing to me and the fact that we can do this fashion show and have music and dancing and fashion and theater all in one is just amazing, and to be able to give back to the community through a way that interests people and draws them in is just what I like about it."
Last year's fashion show raised $3,500 for the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center. The students hope to do the same this year for college scholarships.
