The Blue Ridge football team outscored Nansemond-Suffolk 21-0 in the second half and went on to win the VISAA Division II state title 41-16 Saturday afternoon.
The Barons rushed for over 200 yards. Shawn Steen rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Blue Ridge led by just four at halftime.
Blue Ridge finishes the year with a record of 9-2. It is the school's first state championship since 1994.
