The suspect in a Fishersville shooting will get a new trial date and a new attorney.
Jerad Ross, 23, told an Augusta County judge Wednesday afternoon that his lawyer was not "working in my best interests." The judge reluctantly agreed to appoint him new counsel, and delay his jury trial as a result.
Ross is accused of shooting and critically wounding a man outside the Skyline Motel this past May. He was arrested after a brief manhunt.
Ross faces attempted murder and firearms charges.
