UVA Field Hockey Advances To NCAA 2nd Round

The Virginia field hockey team came from behind to beat Iowa 3-2 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday at University Hall Turf Field.

Senior Paige Selenski scored her 100th career goal to give UVA the lead, before the Hawkeyes scored two quick goals.

Junior tied the game with a goal with 11 seconds left in the 1st half, and junior Hadley Bell scored the game winning goal with about 10 minutes left in regulation.

The victory is the coach Michele Madison's 100th with the Wahoos.

Virginia will play 2-seed Princeton in the second round Sunday at 2pm.
