FUMA's T.J. Dudley Named Falcon Club Player of the Week

Posted: Updated:

Fork Union linebacker and running back T.J. Dudley has been named the Falcon Club Player of the Week.

In FUMA's 42-14 win over Woodberry Forest last week, Dudley had 12 tackles, a fumble recovery, and 2 blocked punts including one recovered for a Fork Union touchdown.    Dudley becomes the second member of his family to be honored by the Falcon Club.   T.J.'s dad Tommy Dudley was voted the Falcon Club Player of the Year in 1988 as a player for Western Albemarle.

T.J. Dudley says, "It feels good to be the second person in my family to get the Falcon Club Award, but as for the game I couldn't be more proud of myself and my teammates for that last win for coach Sullivan, defensively we come out to get better each day and we have each day we've been out."

Fork Union will play Benedictine in the state playoffs Friday night at 7pm at FCHS.   FUMA beat Benedictine 39-30 during the regular season.

FUMA quarterback Christian Hackenberg says, "We have to play them like we've never played them before. In the 2010 season LCA beat us in the regular season and then we came back to beat them in the playoffs so I've seen it before, we're really approaching it like any other game we've had this season so we're really going after it an really focusing on Benedictine this week."
