The Jefferson-Madison Regional Library is asking for a little holiday cheer. It is asking members of the community to check out the book wish list at Amazon.com and consider purchasing a new book for the library's collection.
Even though Christmas is over a month away, the library already has its wish list set up. The library's director, John Halliday, says it's important to constantly have new reads for the public.
"Jefferson-Madison Regional Library is one of the most heavily used public libraries for its size in the whole United States so we have a lot of books—we have half a million books—but the folks here in central Virginia just read more than most people in the country," Halliday said.
You can also purchase a book to honor a friend or family member. For each $25 you donate, you can designate a name to be placed on a special bookplate in a new book. Click here for more information.
