Newcomb Hall at the University of Virginia was transformed into a craft shop Wednesday. It was the annual Artisans' Bazaar hosted by the UVA Arts and Enrichment Committee.
Vendors sold jewelry, home decorations, homemade tea and honey, artwork and much more. The committee says it puts on the event each year so students have the opportunity to appreciate the talent of local artisan vendors.
"Besides it being really unique, I think it's a really great way to sort of support the Charlottesville and UVA community, and also it's sort of UVA and Charlottesville working together on a project which I also think is neat," said Elly Roller with the UVA Arts and Enrichment Committee.
The event also gives student vendors the chance to showcase their talent. The Artisans' Bazaar will be open again Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Newcomb Hall Ballroom.
