The chairperson of the Democratic National Committee is personally calling on central Virginia voters to head to the polls Tuesday.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz rallied volunteers in Charlottesville Monday evening. She met with canvass teams in the Jefferson Park Avenue neighborhood.
The Florida congresswoman is making the case for President Barack Obama's re-election.
"Virginia is a key critical battleground state," Wasserman Schultz said. "We are excited about the momentum that we have here. We've got a ground game that is functioning on all cylinders. There are groups like this functioning all over the state that have been helping us with record turnout here."
Wasserman Schultz's visit is part of the Democratic Party's massive election eve grassroots effort across the commonwealth to push supporters to the polls.
