A Fluvanna County woman claims a pamphlet exposing her personal voting record is shaming people to head to the polls.
The Lake Monticello resident wanted to remain anonymous but she says she received a letter in the mail that revealed her and her neighbors' past voting record. The Americans for Limited Government letter listed names and addresses of her six closest neighbors and indicated whether or not they voted in recent elections.
"I'm not happy with either candidate and was planning not to vote again. But I had almost decided to vote, and so now I'm not sure I'm going to. And part of it is, I don't like the tactics that are being used," she said.
The letter also listed the 2012 presidential election on the sheet as "pending" It indicated that a follow up letter would be mailed out with voting records for the 2012 election. The woman we talked to says she feels it's almost a threat of embarrassment for not voting on Tuesday.
NBC29 tried to reach the group behind the mailings but got no response.
