UVA Swimming and Diving Teams Sweep South Carolina

The UVA swimming and diving teams swept South Carolina in their last home meet of the calendar year Saturday at the Aquatic & Fitness Center.

The Wahoo woman beat the Gamecocks 161-124, while the men won 160-126.

Virginia senior and Olympic Gold Medal Winner Lauren Perdue took first place in the 50-meter freestyle finals with a time of 22.82 seconds, which was almost a half-second in front of 2nd place.

The Virginia teams both improve to 3-0, and return to action at Indiana in two weeks.
