Boyd Tinsley plays the violin in the Dave Matthews Band but on Saturday he showed his chops as a filmmaker at the Virginia Film Festival.
Tinsley debuted his film "Faces in the Mirror" at the University of Virginia's Newcomb Hall Saturday afternoon. The story is about a man who returns home to bury his estranged father. The four-year project was shot in Charlottesville, which is Tinsley's hometown.
"It's been a dream, I mean the entire city of Charlottesville has been behind this movie, gave up everything for us, and we appreciate it so much. This is a Charlottesville movie without a doubt and I just want to thank everybody for being a part of it," said Tinsley.
After the film he answered questions and performed with guitarist Joe Lawlor. Then he headed outside to meet fans, sign autographs and take pictures.
