Republican Senate hopeful George Allen is on a final campaign push through our viewing area. Allen met with supporters at a luncheon in Staunton on Friday.
He was joined by Republican Rep. Bob Goodlatte, and state delegates Rob Bell and Dickie Bell. Allen says he'll vote to repeal Obamacare, open up Virginia's energy reserves, and take a hard look at federal regulations.
"There's so many tough, onerous, burdensome regulations particularly on small businesses. And my view is we need a government that's not on our back but on our side. The regulators ought to be saying, gosh you want to invest, you want to create a business? Well, here's the ways to do it," said Allen.
Polls show Allen is in a near dead heat with Democrat Tim Kaine. The Republican's campaign also made stops in Charlottesville and Bridgewater on Friday.
