The Albemarle volleyball team improves to 26-0 on the season, as the Patriots beat Massaponax 25-10, 25-16, 25-10 in the Commonwealth District semifinals Wednesday night
Albemarle will host Colonial Forge in the district title game Friday at 6pm.
Western Albemarle lost in the Jefferson District for the first time in seven years, as they were swept 3-0 at Powhatan.
As the regular season champ, the Warriors will still play in the Region II tournament.
Fluvanna topped Monticello 3-0 in the other semifinal, and will face Powhatan in the title game Thursday night.
The St. Anne's-Belfield volleyball team came from behind to beat St. Gertrude 22-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-15, 15-10 in the LIS quarterfinals
Senior Allie Nicholson had 14 kills and 22 digs in the win, while junior Lainey Wood added 14 kills and 7 digs.
The Saints will play at St. Catherine's in the semifinals Thursday at 5pm
The STAB field hockey team beat St. Margaret's 8-0.
Catherine Towers scored four goals, while Maddy Brayman scored twice.
STAB will host Covenant in the LIS Championship Game Friday at 3:15pm, after the Eagles beat Steward 3-2 on penalty strokes.
The Western Albemarle field hockey team lost 1-0 in overtime against Faquier County in the Region II tournament.
Charlottesville beat Kettle Run 4-0, and will host Faquier in the championship game Thursday at 5:30 pm.
