Albemarle Moving Forward with Halloween Celebrations

Posted: Updated:

With the spotlight on Hurricane Sandy for the past few days, it's time to transition the focus to trick-or-treating plans.  Halloween celebrations in Albemarle County will go on as planned.

The county says to expect trick-or-treaters at your door Wednesday, but to make sure your property is safe before the little ones show up.

"At this point in time, we anticipate that it will be candy business as usual on trick-or-treating night," said Albemarle County Spokesperson Lee Catlin.  "But again we hope that before trick-or-treaters get to their home, take a few minutes to stand outside and make sure they don't have any trip hazards."

Clearing downed leaves and branches from your sidewalk and driveway are other easy ways to make your property trick or treat safe.
