Hotels Prepare for Storm Rolling Through Central VA

Posted: Updated:

As weather conditions decline with the storm, some Charlottesville hotels are preparing for the worst.

The Charlottesville Red Roof Inn is already accommodating some stranded travelers.  They are making sure they are prepared for the storm and a possible power loss.

The Red Roof Inn is doing its part to prepare for the storm.  They say that they are expecting a lot more people to check in as weather conditions get worse.  They say they have lanterns left over from last year's hurricane and are prepared to line the stairwells with them if they lose power.

"Well the first thing we do is we put in rooms for our staff in case the power goes out or in case we need them here early tomorrow to prepare in case some travelers should come in off the highway," said Wilson Quointonce with the Red Roof Inn.  "Sometimes for snowstorms or things like this, lots of people check in."

The hotel also has extra water and plans to have frequent meetings as the storm progresses.  The Red Roof Inn says they will closely monitor the storm and will run emergency reports to keep track of everyone in the hotel.
