ACAC Hosts "Emergency Kids Day Out" During Hurricane Sandy
With most central Virginia students out of school for Hurricane Sandy, parents were pressed to make emergency plans. That's why the Albemarle Square ACAC hosted an "Emergency Kids Day Out" Monday.
Parents who still had to work could drop off their kids at "ACAC Adventure Central".
Anna Brooks with ACAC said, "It's something that parents definitely appreciate. Everybody coming in has been extremely thankful. Really grateful that they have somewhere to take their children that they know they're going to be safe and engaged."
In lieu of school, students can enjoy playing sports, spending time in the computer lab and some arts and crafts. ACAC will be open for "Kids Day Out" each day school is canceled this week.
