On Sunday, Charlottesville entrepreneurs pitched ideas to experienced business leaders, hoping to launch the next big internet startup.
Web developers, designers and entrepreneurs came together Friday to build teams for Charlottesville's "Startup Weekend."
The teams had 54 action-packed hours to build their business concepts before pitching them to experienced entrepreneurs at Charlottesville's CitySpace on the downtown mall.
John Berryman, an organizer of the "Startup Weekend", said, "I'd like to see the next Facebook come out of this but anything shy of that will also be good. If we get some new startups, or just some people that are thinking differently about the startup process."
Some of the concepts from the weekend include a way for nonprofits to share their messages with larger numbers of people on social networks, and an application that promotes local bands.
