If you're looking for some "not so haunted" Halloween fun for children, the Virginia Discovery Museum has a party for you.
The museum staff donned their best Halloween costumes Friday afternoon to get ready for a party filled with treats instead of tricks.
The museum is aiming to provide a safe Halloween celebration that is not too scary for young children.
Discovery Museum Executive Director Amy Wicks-Horn said, "There'll be activities for all kids, some mad scientists, some boo bowling, the monster mash will be happening in 'Little C'ville', our new exhibit in our back gallery, and it'll just be a fun family event for everybody."
Museum workers are expecting more than 100 people, but say they have room for anyone who wants to come. The party kicks off at 6:00 and runs until 7:30 Friday night.
