Augusta Man Faces Rape Indictment

A Churchville man is facing a rape indictment, after deputies say he cornered a woman in a bathroom and raped her. Officers arrested 51-year-old Robert Snyder this week.

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office says the crime happened in June during a party at a home on Jerusalem Chapel Road. Investigators say the victim ran from the house and drove straight to the sheriff's department after the attack.

Snyder could face up to life in prison if convicted.
