Domestic Dispute Leads to Orange County Double Shooting

A domestic dispute has landed an Orange County couple in the hospital with gunshot wounds.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office reports that around midnight they responded to a call of a shooting at a home along Vermont Road.

Investigators identify the victims as 39-year-old John Eckman Jr. and 45-year-old Virginia Eckman. Both had been shot with firearms.  Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. 

There is no word at this point on whether charges will be filed.

On October 25, 2012 at approximately 11:55 p.m., the Orange Sheriff's Office received a call from the 911 Center to respond to a residence on the 7000 block of Vermont Road in the Rhoadesville area of Orange County for a double shooting. 

Upon arriving at the residence, deputies discovered that the residents, John James Eckman Jr., age 39, and Virginia Marie Eckman, age 45, had both been shot with firearms. 

Investigation indicates that these shootings are a result of a domestic dispute that occurred at the residence between the victims.  The injuries from the shootings appear to be non-life threatening. 

Emergency Protective Orders have been issued at this time and the investigation into the shooting is continuing.
