A new organization is doing its part to help make Charlottesville a more interesting city. The Charlottesville Mural Project dedicated its second public mural to the people of Charlottesville Tuesday.
The mural's artist, Matt Pamer, created what he calls "Kingdom Animalia." The building's owner commissioned the Charlottesville Mural Project as part of a revitalization process along West Main Street.
"He commissioned the Charlottesville Mural Project to do a piece on the side of the wall that would improve the condition of the wall and just make the area more visually interesting," said Charlottesville Mural Project Director Ross McDermott.
The group hopes to create two murals a year. Its next project will be a painting to commemorate 40 years of the Clean Water Act.
