Tractor Trailer Hauling Logs Overturns in Fluvanna

Route 15 in Fluvanna County was closed for several hours Tuesday morning after a tractor trailer hauling logs overturned.

The accident happened around 7:00 about a mile north of Fork Union near Dixie Lane. Police say a small vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and hit the 18-wheeler, causing the truck to overturn. Logs blocked most of the roadway until crews could be called in to remove them.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. The driver of the car was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
