The Washington Redskins have suffered another injury to a key player, this time on offense.
Tight end Fred Davis is out for the year after tearing his Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Giants.
Davis was the team's leading receiver this year with over 300 yards.
To replace Davis, the Redskins have signed one of the team's all-time fan favorites, as Chris Cooley is returning to the team.
Cooley passed his physical Monday morning.
The 30-year old was cut by the Redskins in during training camp in August.
Cooley ranks 5th on the Redskins' all-time receptions list.
He had over 4,700 yards and 33 touchdowns during his eight seasons with the Redskins.
