Crews worked to quickly put out a fire in Charlottesville Friday night. The fire broke out just before 10:00.
Smoke was seen billowing from the home in the 1200 block of Grove Street when crews arrived. The fire chief says it started in the basement and did not spread to the rest of the home.
The family was home at the time of the fire but no one was hurt. Investigators are still working to determine what sparked the fire.

City of Charlottesville Fire Department units were dispatched to 1207 Grove Street at 21:58 this evening for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, units had smoke showing from the residence.
Further investigation, discovered a fire in the basement. Fire units contained the fire to the basement area, with smoke throughout the home.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported. The fire was brought under control very quickly by units on the scene. The residents were home at the time of the fire. The fire is still under investigation by the City of Charlottesville's Fire Marshal's office.
