Students at the University of Virginia got out their spatulas and heated up their griddles Saturday morning for the ninth annual Pancakes for Parkinson's fundraiser.
UVA students, Charlottesville neighbors, and Parkinson's patients came together to enjoy breakfast, watch live performances, and donate to a good cause.
Lieve Pitts, a UVA alumna, said, "My dad has Parkinson's and so to see all this support for him and awareness, makes it easier for him to cope with having the disease and makes it easier for him to just accept it and work with it."
All of the proceeds from the pancake breakfast on the lawn go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. This year the event is aiming to raise more than $50,000.
