What do you get when you mix Virginia Wine Month and Celebrate250? Something definitely worth celebrating: a newly released wine that benefits the city of Charlottesville.
In honor of Celebrate250, Prince Michel Vineyard and Winery has made two commemorative wines. The two different wines include one white and one red: a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon.
It's also the 30th anniversary of the winery, so organizers say they wanted to make sure there was something for everyone.
Part of the profits from the bottles sold will go towards the city of Charlottesville to continue the Celebrate250 events.
"250 years is quite a milestone, so we feel like it is a time for celebration, and we feel like what better way to celebrate than with wonderful Prince Michel wine," said Pam Gower, the director of exporting.
You can purchase the commemorative wines at restaurants and grocery stores in Charlottesville and the surrounding areas. The wines will be available at the Celebrate250 Gala on November 11, and two bottles will be placed in the city time capsule.
