Posted: Updated:

The UVA men's soccer team netted 3 goals in the first half as they took down Wright State 3-2 in their final non-conference match up Monday.

Freshman Marcus Salandy-Defour scored a goal and added an assist to help lift the Cavaliers to 7-6-1 while Wright State fell to 3-9-1.

Wright State scored a quick goal just 6 minutes into the match up after Derek Zuniga's corner hit a UVA defenders head and deflected into the goal.

But UVA responded immediately when Will Bates scored 6 minutes later, shortly followed by a goal off the foot of Marcus Salandy Defour.

Eric Bird scored the eventual game winning goal that sent the 'hoos up 3-1 in the 40th minute of play.

The Cavaliers take on Virginia Tech in the regular season home game finale at Klockner Stadium Friday at 6:30 p.m.
