The #4 James Madison football team beat William and Mary 27-26 in double overtime Saturday night at Bridgeforth Stadium.

The Tribe went for two on their extra point try after scoring a TD in the 2nd overtime, but the pass was knocked down in the endzone by the JMU defense, preserving the win.

Former R.E. Lee star Dae'Quan Scott scored twice for James Madison (5-1, 3-0 CAA), including the go-ahead touchdown in the 2nd overtime.

Both teams had scored field goals in the 1st OT session.

William & Mary had a chance to win at the end of regulation, but a 31 yard field goal try by Drake Kuhn missed wide left.

Quarterback Justin Thorpe had a career-high 106 rushing yards on 21 carries, while completing  14-of-20 passes for 157 yards and one touchdown.

JMU travels to play at Richmond next Saturday at 3:30 pm
