A Charlottesville wheelchair basketball team is getting support from more than just its fans.
The Charlottesville Cash Mob was on hand Saturday afternoon to cheer on the Cardinals during a double header and to raise money for the Independence Resource Center, an organization for people with disabilities.
The cash mob is a group in Charlottesville that, up until this point, has been trying to bring in money to support small businesses.
Bob Fenwick, a cash mob member, said, "It became pretty apparent that the nonprofits are in the same boat [that] businesses are in with the recession, so we're just thrilled to be part of this promotion."
The Charlottesville Cardinals are currently ranked 14th in the nation.
