Augusta County Sheriff's Office Investigates Car Break-Ins
Investigators in Augusta County are hoping a photo from a store surveillance camera will help catch a suspect in a string of car break-ins.
The sheriff's office says the man used a credit card taken from a car parked at a Walmart store. Investigators say the larcenies took place over the past four weeks in Stuarts Draft and Fishersville.

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office has experienced an increase in larcenies from vehicles in the Stuarts Draft and Fishersville areas over the past four weeks. The majority of the vehicles targeted have had an item of value left in the vehicle in plain sight. In some cases forcible means have been made to gain access into locked vehicles. The sheriff's office is asking that you remove all items of value from your vehicle and keep your vehicles locked at all times.
A recent theft of a debit/credit card from a motor vehicle was used at a local Walmart by the individual in the attached photo. Anyone with information about the individual in the photo is asked to call the sheriff's office at 245-5333 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-322-2017.
