A nation of voters tuned in to Thursday night's vice presidential debate. Now the University of Virginia Center for Politics says there was no clear winner.
Vice President Joe Biden and vice presidential candidate, Rep. Paul Ryan, squared off for their one and only debate.
Political analysts say Biden was energetic and combative. That should help energize the Democratic base, but could come across as rude. Ryan did nothing to upset Mitt Romney's momentum, but could have fought Biden off more.
"Generally speaking it's not going to matter," said Geoffrey Skelley with the UVA Center for Politics. "People are voting for the top of the ticket. Really all a vice presidential candidate can do is harm a presidential candidate."
Now, all eyes turn to the second presidential debate to see if President Barack Obama can come back after a poor performance. You can catch the action on NBC29 this Tuesday at 9:00 p.m.
