The Haven Hosts 3rd Annual Peace Talk in Charlottesville
In the spirit of the Dalai Lama's visit, people gathered in Charlottesville to talk about a compassionate community.
The Haven hosted the third annual Peace Talk Thursday afternoon. Dozens of members from the community enjoyed snacks while learning about how compassion is connected to peace. Attendees were taught about finding their own inner compassion and how to use nonviolent communication.
"The goal of today is to bring people together, to take the Dalai Lama's message to reflect, respond, deepen, and put it into action - we're interested in compassion and action," said Peace Talk organizer Douglass Olson.
Olson says the gathering gave attendees the chance to not only listen, but talk too. They practiced meditation to help find their inner compassion.
