Waynesboro Man Arrested for Assault of Family Member

The Waynesboro Police Department has arrested a Waynesboro man for the felonious assault of a female family member that occurred on October 6, 2012.  Roland Calvin Thompson, Jr., 30 years old, was arrested on one felony charge of unlawful wounding. 

Thompson's  27 year old victim flagged down a police officer near B St & North Delphine Ave around 11:00 pm on October 6 after the assault.  The officer reported that the victim had blood all over her face.

According to the victim, Thompson and she were at Sidelines Café where Thompson had several alcoholic drinks.  During their car ride home, Thompson and she had argument.  Thompson began punching the windshield of the vehicle and then began punching the victim in the face as she drove.  The victim was able to get to their residence where Thompson got out of the vehicle. 

The victim then drove away to seek assistance when she saw the police officer on N Delphine Ave.  She was treated at Augusta Health for a broken nose and facial lacerations.  Thompson is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
