North Carolina used big plays to beat Virginia Tech Saturday, as the Tar Heels scored on six of their final eight possessions in the 48-34 win.
The Hokies allowed a kick off return for a touchdown for the first time since 1993 in the loss, and also surrendering a program-worst 262-yards rushing to Gio Bernard.
Tech is now 3-3 overall on the season, and is off to its worst start in twenty years.
Junior cornerback Antone Exum says, "We had too many big plays, and that takes its toll over the course of the game. It's something we can't get back, but we'll look to clean those things up."
Head coach Frank Beamer adds, "You got to give them credit. We have to continue building on things we're doing well, and keep on fighting this thing."
The Hokies return to action Saturday at 12:30 at home against Duke.
