The University of Virginia is opening up registration for its second annual Merit Badge University.
Boy scouts ages 11 to 18 are invited to a full day of merit badge training, in areas ranging from archery, wilderness survival, photography and cinematography.
Participants will work in small groups with university students and professors to earn badges.
"College students and college professors can help show real world applications for um each of the skills that scouts will learn in their merit badges," said Riley Hope with UVA UScouts.
The Merit Badge University is on November 3 at the Staunton Mall. The event can host up to 350 scouts. The deadline to sign up is October 24. Click here to learn more or sign up.
