Calling all cyclists - this weekend is your chance to spin for a cause. The Charlottesville Racing Club is hosting a Spin-A-Thon to raise money to make sure every child who wants a bike gets one during the holidays.
It is hoping to get as many six-rider teams to spin for 12 hours Saturday at Fry's Spring Station. Each rider will donate $50 which is enough to buy a bike.
"With this Spin-A-Thon, through our participants raising money, through our sponsors raising money, we're going to try to bridge that gap and make sure every kid in Charlottesville that wants a bike this holiday season gets one," said Charlottesville Racing Club President Alan Bewely.
The event's sponsors - Devils Backbone Brewing Company, Shenandoah Joe's, Fry's Spring Station and Blue Ridge Cyclery - are all donating to the cause. Click here for more information on how to sign up.
