A community event in Waynesboro tonight focuses on the needs and issues of an aging population.
The fourth annual Senior Forum will have an information fair, where you can meet with a wide variety of service providers. Several speakers will offer help on topics including stroke awareness, protection of financial assets, and smart choices in assisted living. The forum is free, and not just for seniors.
"If you're an adult, child and you have a parent that you're concerned about... many times children are the one to select the care for their parents as time goes on," said Jeanne Russell with the Waynesboro Senior Advocacy Commission. "This would be a good forum for family members to attend, just gain more knowledge."
The Waynesboro Senior Advocacy Commission is sponsoring the forum, and it runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church on Wayne Avenue.
