Waynesboro says a high-flying event on Saturday will offer some fun for everyone.
The seventh annual Kite Day takes place at the wide-open acres of Coyner Springs Park. It will feature soaring demonstrations, and free kites for kids to decorate and fly.
The day in the park will also feature hay rides, kids' parachute races, and a wide variety of food. But of course, most eyes will be on the skies.
"Hundred-foot kites are going to be out here, stunt kites are going to be out here. And then we'll have kites for sale too - really nice kites for sale. So you can bring your own kite out, you can buy a kite. We've got really something for everybody," said Spencer Eavers with the Waynesboro Parks Department.
Waynesboro's Kite Day runs Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and has an American flag ceremony at noon. The event is free of charge.
