Orange County Police Investigating String of Burglaries
Orange County Police say they are investigating a string of burglaries along the Route 33 Corridor. An Orange County resident says she came home to find her house in pieces this past weekend. The thieves stole expensive valuables from the home and some items that were not so valuable.
When Leah Bradley realized her home was broken into, she wasn't surprised to find her laptop, PlayStation and expensive valuables missing. But it was the items she didn't expect to see taken that caught her off guard. The burglars took her shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush, and $30 worth of food from her kitchen.
"The people even took my medication too, they took my medicine, they went in my bathroom and cleaned out my medicine cabinet," Bradley said.
The thieves broke through a window that had an air conditioning unit in it. Bradley says they threw a box of her documents all over her home along with her clothes and some of her son's toys.
She said, "I mean I can't think of anybody that I know that would do this to anybody, but, it's pretty upsetting."
They also went through her trash and moved the mattresses around on her and her son's beds to look underneath of them. Bradley says since the break-in, she is on high alert.
"As far as the neighborhood-wise it's very unsettling because we do have a lot of the neighbors including myself, we all have children," she said.
Police say that there have been three break-ins in that area in the past several weeks, with this one being the most recent. If you have any information, call Orange County's Crime Stoppers number at 540-672-7200.
