Monticello High School Teacher to Appear on Jeopardy!

Posted: Updated:

Chemistry teacher Michael Farabaugh is normally the one testing his students at Monticello High School, but next week, he's facing a test of his own.

Farabaugh is ditching the chemistry lab and heading to California to appear on the Jeopardy! "Teachers Tournament".  He says he's more than ready for the science-based questions.

Now he's stepping up his studying in other areas.

"I'd already been practicing and training a little bit for Jeopardy! just in case, so I said I'll just step it up a bit and keep reviewing all kinds of things - geography and presidents and history and things like that," Farabaugh said.

Taping will take place next week, but the teachers tournament won't air until November.  Jeopardy! airs on NBC29 at 7:30 p.m.
