The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce wants more retirees to live in Charlottesville.
Monday, the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Jefferson Area Board for Aging and other collaborating organizations announced a new marketing initiative called "Retire to Charlottesville."
The groups say recruiting retirees and keeping Charlottesville's retirees here would benefit the area's economy.
"The people who come here are giving back, they're volunteering, they're not using as many of the services as some of the other markets might be," said Westminster-Canterbury CEO Gary Selmeczi. "So they're contributing economically and professionally to the community."
The initiative has launched a website with resources for people who may be thinking about retiring to the area. Click here for more information.
