Waynesboro is on its way to becoming a more pedestrian and bike-friendly city.
Monday night, Waynesboro City Council will hold a public hearing to discuss adding a section on bike and pedestrian improvements to the comprehensive plan.
Vice Mayor Tim Williams says the city wants to add lanes for cyclists eventually, but may start by putting down safety markers. He says another goal would be to require developers to do their part by putting in sidewalks. In the past, Williams says the city has done a poor job enforcing sidewalk regulations.
The public is invited to give their input on the bike and pedestrian plan at council's meeting Monday night at 7:00 in City Hall.
