Virginia Tech got back on the winning track with a 37-0 shutout against Bowling Green at Lane Stadium September 22, 2012.

After running for just 59-yards in the surprising loss at Pitt, the Hokies rushed for 246 against the Falcons. Virginia Tech averagd 5.7 yards per attempt.

Seven different players had at least one carry and no one ran for more than 68-yards.

Virginia Tech Head Coach, Frank Beamer said, "I think the speed we played in the backfield was better, and that helps. It's one of those things that ties in together, you have to block better, and wall off, and then you got to hit the hole and go."
