More than 600 people paraded through Charlottesville Saturday morning for the Walk to End Alzheimer's.

The walk kicked off at 9:00 a.m. with an emotional opening ceremony in Lee Park. Walkers held up spinning flowers to show their support for loved ones with Alzheimer's. Then walkers of all ages took off for their trip around downtown.

Carly Salas with UVA Hoos for Memory said,  "Today we have about 50 members on our team today and we've raised $4,600. Our goal at first was like $2,000 so we were so excited."

Saturday's walk in Charlottesville exceeded its goal of $125,000, but they are still accepting donations until November 1.
